This new year is a special one for ETS as we welcome our new CEO, Steve Woolworth.
As someone with more than three decades of experience working in community-based services, Steve brings new insights that will lead our team as we continue to tackle the persistent challenges of opioid addiction and homelessness in our communities. He will lead all aspects of our work, and we couldn’t be happier.
Originally from the East Coast, Steve has proudly called the Northwest “home” for more than twenty-five years. Together with his wife, Sherri, and two kids, Isaiah and Jordan, the Woolworths are active members of the Puget Sound community. From weekend lacrosse tournaments to farmers markets and summer camping, they enjoy experiencing all that life in the Northwest has to offer. Each year the Woolworths also look forward to ringing in the New Year with the people of Central and South America. This year they welcomed in 2020 on the banks of Ecuador’s Napo River in the Amazon jungle.
Our board chair Betsy Wells shared her thoughts on Steve coming on board, “We are excited to have Steve’s perspective and leadership. He has a deep knowledge of the world in which ETS operates, and his experience will enable our team to tackle the challenges of the opioid epidemic and homelessness crisis even more effectively than before.”
He brings to us more than a decade of leadership experience. Most recently, he was vice-president of behavioral health and transition services at Pioneer Health Services, a nonprofit that supports people with criminal histories through treatment, housing, and employment services. He led the design and development of Pioneer’s regional recovery-focused continuums of care, impacting more than 10,000 people a year.
With his unique background in community-based services, he has pushed the envelope in research, policy, and practice in the fields of behavioral health, corrections, education, homelessness, and public health. We are looking forward to the fresh ideas that this experience will bring.
Steve is excited to work with the seasoned professionals of ETS. “The staff here is unmatched; their passion and knowledge shine through in the work they do every day. ETS is committed to truly transforming lives, and I am honored to have been selected to step into this position,” said Woolworth. As CEO, he will focus on strategic planning, implementing best practices to improve the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness, and raising awareness of ETS’s work in western Washington.
It’s clear that Steve is an amazing addition to our team. ETS and our services will be stronger than ever with him at the helm.
